Cadgiving initiative: Cadsourcing’s partnership with CITE Cebu
Cadsourcing Partnership with CITE Cebu
Advocating a “culture of care,” Cadsourcing’s recent partnership with the Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise in Cebu, Philippines, (CITE) is a proud moment for the company. This move is in line with company’s civic engagement and volunteer initiatives to inspire its employees to give back to their communities.
CITE is an institution committed to provide training in technical skills and entrepreneurship, values formation and social services to the underprivileged youth, their families, the local community and the industrial sector of the Visayas and Mindanao.
Partnering with CITE’s administration, Cadsourcing launched a scholarship program in assisting deserving but underprivileged students. Cadsourcing is also looking into providing monetary and in-kind donations with plans toward advancing school infrastructure improvements, equipment and a variety of new educational spaces.
One major thing about the partnership is the Dual Training System (DTS) program. This is a mode of training delivery which combines theoretical and practical training. It is called “dual” because the training happens in two venues: the school and the company. The student-trainee reports to the school once a week (Monday or Friday) while he works and trains in the company during the rest of the week.
The DTS program embodies a strong collaboration and cooperation between Cadsourcing and CITE, and aims to benefit both components and the student. CITE will send the student-trainees to the company for in-plant training and exposure. With this, the student-trainees’ skills and potential will be honed by assigning them to jobs where they could learn and be productive at the same time.
Cadsourcing, as a DTS partner, becomes a sponsor to the student-trainees by contributing to their partial cost of education in CITE in the form of training subsidies.
The in-plant training duration is projected at 15 months. Throughout this period, the student-trainees are expected to acquire the relevant knowledge and skills as their training progresses thus, becoming more productive. As a result, the student-trainees will be able to contribute to the company’s competent workforce.
CITE honored Cadsourcing’s support by granting the company, a Scholarship Grantor, with a Memorial Trophy. Cadsourcing is one of the privileged grantors that was given this recognition. On June 8, 2018, Cadsourcing general manager Amylene Sy and corporate secretary Giovanni Fernandez binded the signing of documents to solidify the partnership of the two entities. On the same day, was also the 26th Scholarship Day Rites of CITE.
Cadsourcing will continue to support CITE on its mission in providing training for technical skills and entrepreneurship, values formation and social services to the underprivileged youth, their families, the local community and the industrial sector of the Visayas and Mindanao.
