She has also managed successful big accounts that include Vonage, Best Buy, United American Airlines, AT&T and British Telecoms; handling over 200 person offices.
Amylene has a degree in Medical Technology and is Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certified. She plays a crucial role at Cadsourcing to plan and maintain systems and procedures for operating efficiency. Also, she manages the staff for optimum performance.
We sat down with Amylene recently to learn a little about her.
“What’s the one thing about you few people know?”
Amylene Sy: “Few people know that this life of mine today is considered my second chance at life. Few people know that I had a near-death experience when I was in a car crash in 2002. Although I came out only with a slight bruise on my shoulder where my seatbelt was, that day, for me, was a miracle. It made me realize that I still had a greater purpose in life that I hadn’t yet fulfilled because I was still alive. Now, I am able to appreciate every little thing around me and every event that happens on a daily basis, no matter how meaningful or meaningless these can be. I am able to appreciate more deeply my time with family, friends and those close to me.
“How do you keep a healthy work / life balance?”
Amylene Sy: “I observe the ‘8-8-8 rule’ daily! I make sure that I have eight hours of sleep with at least eight glasses of water (always a priority), eight hours of work (full dedication to working in the business), and eight hours of personal time (family bonding, watching a movie, spending time with friends, playing my favorite sport of tennis etc).
“What are you most proud of?”
Amylene Sy: “I am most proud of my children. There is no other love that can equal or surpass a mother’s love for her children. I am a proud mother to my daughter Stefanie Myen and to my son Antonio Miguel. I am proud to say that now that they’ve grown into adults, they will also be proud to say that I am their mom. I am also most proud of people whom I am able to teach, mentor and guide just like my children who fully developed into their utmost potential. Most especially, I am proud of those very raw talents that started without even knowing the directions they wanted to take for their personal lives and professional careers. Just like my children, I want them to grow as mature individuals and be ready and not fear the next challenges that come their way.
“How does a normal day look like at the office?”
Amylene Sy: “On a normal day in the office we begin with a “Fast Ball, Fast Talk” (a daily activity in the office that I introduced meant to energize everyone; it also allows us to get to know each other more closely; and to quickly announce any important updates in the company). Overall, the first half of the day will be the most filled, and ideally the second half of the day will be most fulfilling, as we see the fruits of our labor at the end of the day.”
“What is your favorite movie of all time?”
Amylene Sy: “My favorite movie of all time is ‘The Sound of Music’ starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, and their seven most wonderful talented children, released in 1965. Although I had the chance to see it first when I was in primary school, I have never seen another actress that is as good a singer and actor as Julie Andrews was to this day. I also liked ‘Mary Poppins’ which also stars Julie Andrews.
The most successful of businesses have a driven and engaged the team with members that know how to communicate and cooperate with each other in order to reach their common objectives. Cadsourcing is moving in the right direction having Amy as its manager.
Thank you, Amy, for all that you do!
